Hey everybody! Do you like brownies? I do and my friend Socky does, too.
In our episode “Cooking with Jamie” I make some great brownies in our kitchen. Would you like the recipe? Well….ok.
I have two favorite recipes. One is for humans and one is for dogs. I really, really, really like dogs and think they should be allowed brownies too. BUT dogs are never allowed to have chocolate- so I have a delicious recipe that doesn’t have chocolate. OK?

HUMAN RECIPE (please do not share with dogs- even if they give you goo-goo eyes)
1/2 cup melted butter,
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup self-rising flour
1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
If you’re a kid get a grown-up to help.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour an 8×8 or 9×9 inch baking pan.
In a medium bowl, beat together the butter and sugar. Add eggs, and mix well. Combine the flour, cocoa and salt; stir into the sugar mixture. Mix in the vanilla and stir in walnuts if desired. Spread evenly into the prepared pan.
Bake for 25 to 30 minutes in the preheated oven, or until edges are firm. Cool before cutting into squares.
DOG RECIPE (a human can taste- but don’t eat the whole batch!)
1/2 cup butter
3 tablespoons honey
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup whole wheat flour
1/4 cup carob flour (powder) (try the health food store!)
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
12 ounces nonfat cream cheese
2 teaspoons honey
Cream butter and honey together thoroughly. Add remaining ingredients. Mix well. Bake in a 10×15″ pan for 25 minutes at 350 degrees. Cool completely.
FROSTING: Blend together. Spread frosting over cool brownies. Cut into 3 inch or 1 1/2 inch squares.
